Human

"In the boundless expanse of existence, humanity finds itself as a sinking man engulfed by treacherous waters. Yet, behold the radiant testament within the hallowed scriptures, where the Civil Gospel reveals the truth that dwells within the human soul. Through unbending faith the mortal spirit rises above the tumultuous waves, triumphing over relentless currents.   Lothor, the celestial beacon, adorned with prophetic light, emerges as hope amidst the lawless ocean. As his teachings resonate, they become the very vessel that rescues the drowning soul, offering both salvation and purpose amidst the tempest. Embrace his sacred words, and let their resonance echo within, guiding you towards a future where benevolence reigns, like the tranquil shores that await your journey's end."

Description

Many humans, driven by the pursuit of their desires, embark on a relentless quest for power, love, and purpose. Their paths intermingle with the shifting tides of history, marking significant triumphs and heart-wrenching tragedy. From legendary figures who defied fate, to ordinary individuals seeking their place in a complex world, the annals of human history are replete with captivating tales of courage, sacrifice, and redemption.   Humans are known for their brashness and intelligence, earning them a reputation for unpredictability. Their ingenuity has yielded some of Dromaria's most remarkable breakthroughs, although their numerous conflicts have left lasting scars on the world.   Humans display a wide range of physical characteristics, varying in shape, size, and height, which can span from 5 to nearly 7 feet. Their diversity extends to their skin, hair, and eye colors, ensuring that no two individuals are exactly alike.

Societies

While humans can be found throughout Dromaria, they are particularly prominent on the continent of Pathriam and within the country of Undai. Human societies exhibit great diversity, ranging from the Lothor-worshiping nation of the Tritos Dominion, to the arcane district of Thorn and beyond. The culture of Undai, living under the umbrella of The Dragon's Peace, tends to be less inclined towards violence, with many humans there embracing spirituality, through The Calling or The Covenant.
Among notable settlements, the city of Ania in the Tritos Dominion stands as the oldest and largest gathering of humans in one location. However, it is not to be overshadowed by the likes of Tao and New Blarek, the largest cities in the world, which also boast a significant human population. Each of these cities possesses its own unique culture, as humans have a remarkable tendency to shape diverse and vibrant societies.
"It is the guarantee of civilization that you will inevitably find humans there."

~ Emperor Aenaryuu Sithir

The capital city of Ania, largest foundation of the Lothoren faith.

History

Originating from various worlds, humans congregated on the Ancestors' vessel. While the majority came from the world of Magnon, it is the exploits of the Krazier Krazier family from the planet Athantoss that have lingered through the ages.   In the early years of settling, two powerful humans named Gaides and Polurn Krazier died protecting the Ancestors. Gaides fell in the first battle with the dragons of Dromaria, his soul became untethered and lost to the winds. Deeply affected by the loss of her brother, Polurn tirelessly delved into the mysteries surrounding their new world and discovered that it was ill-prepared to handle the passage of mortal souls. Through her selfless sacrifice, she ensured the continuity of the cycle of death and rebirth, ultimately ascending to become revered as a goddess of death.   While some sought to establish peace with the formidable dragons, others, led by an enraged Lucca Krazier, embarked on a campaign of vengeance. The loss of his siblings was too much and the ensuing war was marked by desperation and bloodshed.   Following Lucca's demise and the signing of The Covenant, humans gained the freedom to reside wherever they chose outside of the continent of Erimata. Some remained in the safety of the new colony of Kalatearman on Zan'deil, while many others settled across the expanse of the continent of Pathriam. The city of Ania emerged as the inaugural human nation in a new country called Innex, becoming known as the Civil Kingdom.   The Age of Horror engulfed the fledgling nation, yet those horrors were ultimately vanquished through the determined efforts and sacrifices of a man named Ulric Lothor. Lothor became the most prominent human leader in history, and the greatest hero of the age. The worship of Lothor gave birth to his ascension and the advent of the Lothoren chapter of the Illumination faith.   Unfortunately, numerous people could not escape the turmoil of the age. When The Dragon's Peace opened the borders of Erimata many sought refuge in Undai. As the dangers gradually waned, many eagerly desired to reclaim their former homes, only to discover them occupied by other nations or still plagued by horrors. The refusal of Ania to relinquish its control over the great city of Blarek ignited the first of many momentous human conflicts.   To immerse oneself in the rich tapestry of human affairs is to traverse a labyrinth of ambition and longing, where the echoes of forgotten empires and the whispers of unsung heroes can still be heard. It is a journey where the bonds of friendship and enmity shape destinies, where love blossoms amidst the ravages of war, and where individuals discover profound truths about themselves and the world they inhabit. Delving deeper into the annals of human history reveals an epic saga that continues to unfold, beckoning both scholars and storytellers to unravel its secrets and celebrate the timeless spirit of humanity.
Human Backgrounds
Here are a few Dromaria specific backgrounds associated with humans:
While these represent the largest human societies, people from anywhere may have similar backgrounds.
The Legacy of Krazier
The legacy of the Krazier family looms large, evoking hatred and fear in equal measure. Krazier herself is worshipped as a deity associated with revenge, tyranny, and undeath. The mere mention of her name can awaken ancient grudges, prompting dragons to unleash their wrath upon those who dare to speak it. Gaides, Lucca, and Polurn, the children of Krazier, left their mark on history, despite their demise occurring millennia ago.   In a fateful turn of events, Lucca returned in the year 6,064 DA as a dominant demon lord, instigating the largest war ever fought on Dromarian soil. This cataclysmic conflict, ignited by Lucca's lust for revenge, left an indelible mark upon the world.
