Red Keep Adventure Items

Belt of Arctalian

Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement)
This leather belt is made from the underbelly of a white dragon and has a dragon's head for the buckle. Snowflakes appear around the wearer whenever they move.    When you fail a saving throw to avoid a breath weapon attack, you can use your reaction to succeed on that saving throw instead.    While wearing this belt, you have resistance to cold damage. In addition, you and everything you wear and carry are unharmed by temperatures as low as −50 degrees Fahrenheit.   Curse. This belt is cursed, and becoming attuned to it extends the curse to you. As long as you remain cursed, you are unwilling to part with the belt, keeping it within reach at all times. This curse does not effect dragons or dragonborn.   While cursed, any surface you walk on is treated as ice, making it difficult terrain.    Whenever you are subjected to a breath weapon attack you automatically fail your saving throw and cannot succeed through other means.

The Bomboozler

Wondrous Item, rare
This specialized bomb was designed to disrupt dragons and dragonkind. Recognizing that the device violated the Covenant its creator quickly sold their prototypes to the highest bidder. The Bomboozler is a palm-sized gnomish sphere covered in various cones, knobs, and dials. Once activated it lets out repeating flashing concussive and sonic blasts.   Any dragons within 100 ft. of the bomb must make three saving throws as soon as the device is active and again at the start of each of its turns. The effects last for one round each.
  • DC 17 Constitution saving throw or become blinded and deafened.
  • DC 17 Intelligence saving throw or be afflicted by the Feeblemind spell.
  • DC 17 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened.
The Bomboozler will run until it stops and is then broken. Because the bomb is a prototype it is unclear how long its effects will last, roll 1d4 to see how many rounds it will continue.
