Dipthi

"Spin the Wheel of Fortune, the final turn is at hand! Are you prepared, my little ones?
Dukkerin starts, Dukkerin ends,
In the end you'll all be friends.   The light goes out, we share the dark
As embers die in the midnight spark.   One last spin, it all starts soon
Run my children, and find the moon."

Description

Dipthi, the capricious Empress of the Otherwyld, imbues the world of Dromaria with a lure of enchantment found nowhere else. Her realm, a haunting place of mystery and wonder, is connected to Dromaria, manifesting as a forest known as Tempus Nova. This forest, teeming with creatures both beautiful and perilous, reflects the nature of Dipthi herself, charming and deadly.   As the goddess of chance, fey, gnomes, goblins, and mischief, Dipthi's influence is widespread and unpredictable. Her subjects, the creatures of the Otherwyld, often dedicate themselves to her whims, though dealing with her can carry a high risk. Known for her love of games and companionship, Dipthi epitomizes the dark and wild aspects of nature.   The game of Dukkerin, a decree from Dipthi herself, shapes the social structures of the Otherwyld. Its inhabitants dedicate their lives to its rounds, which end only when Dipthi declares a new one. Sometimes referred to as "Dipthi's Dream," Dukkerin can cause widespread chaos or times of relative peace from the Otherwyld, depending on what her edict is.

Modern Depiction

Dipthi's depictions vary wildly, reflecting her unpredictable nature. Some portray her as a young gnome girl with vibrant, mossy hair that reaches the ground, while others depict her as a dark nature spirit of shadow and mud with a gaping maw full of razor-sharp teeth. Her presence often manifests as forgetfulness, followed by bouts of extreme fortune, good or bad. No two encounters with Dipthi are ever the same, and no two descriptions of her entirely align.

Dipthi Worshiping Adventurers

Goblins, gnomes, and fey commonly worship Dipthi, but any mortal who lives a life of mischief and chance can find a connection with the Empress of the Otherwyld. Worshiping Dipthi means participating in the game of Dukkerin, with its purpose constantly guiding the actions of her followers. Both goblins and gnomes share a connection with Dipthi, leading to a strange phenomenon where the two may recall past lives of others from the Otherwyld.

Why would you choose this faith?
Bards, rogues, sorcerers, and warlocks may find themselves among Dipthi's worshipers. Embracing her as your deity means a life of unpredictability, mischief, and connection with the wild aspects of the world. If you find joy in chaos, relish the unexpected, and feel drawn to the fey, than Dipthi's games may be yours as well.
Backgrounds
Those associated with Otherwyld, especially gnomes and goblins are among the most likely followers of Dipthi.
Holy Symbol
Dipthi's symbol, a circle with a spiral at its center, is commonly worn as amulets, tattoos, or patches by Otherwyld descendants who partake in Dukkerin. The spiral is engraved on stones marking areas with a significant fey presence.   Some followers of Groman create small statues of the spiral, breaking them at the center and hanging them from trees as protective wards and warnings to Dipthi and her subjects to keep their distance.
Associated Religions
Dipthi is almost entirely worshiped by those from the Otherwyld. However the Path of the Ancestors, Lothoren, and Summertide all speak of the goddess.
