Forn Myth in Dromaria | World Anvil

Forn

"The stones will drink deep of my life's blood for this new world. These colossal lizards shall not breach the Kalatearman, not while the indomitable might of Forn stands beside you.   Temilian, my old friend, let the beasts taste the acrid steel of my armor, for when they do, I shall bury my ax so far within their skulls that even in death, we shall marvel at my power!"

Description

Beholden to no one, the Matron Clans of Forn embody the core of dwarfhood. The name of the original dwarven clan and kingdom, Forn has evolved to encompass a form of worship dedicated to legacy. Other cultures may perceive Forn as a singular dwarf god, but the deity represents the collective spirit and cultural heritage of generations. While Forn is always referred to as a single entity, the god serves as a representative of many civilizations.   The Stone Oaths are considered the five traditions of Forn, emphasizing the significance of following a path worth living. These tenets have guided people on Dromaria since the beginning to follow The Calling. Forn teaches to empower the universe through craft and skill, shaping what it seeks from the stone and metal. Dwarves take power through their Callings, finding strength in their belief.   Whether it's the artistry of sculpting their likenesses alongside the greats in the Crystalcap Mountains or perfecting mining techniques passed down through generations, the dwarves of Forn's Calling strive to master their chosen professions while uplifting one another and the world around them.

Modern Depictions

Artists have attempted various depictions of Forn, but the most popular interpretations are the Matron and the Triad. The Matron is often portrayed as a resplendent dwarven woman with fiery red hair, her braids intertwining amidst the trials of pregnancy. The Triad consists of three dwarven siblings, each with distinct appearances, often depicted assisting one another in mischievous tasks or tidying up a mess.
