"If you are going to come into my country at a private location, using unapproved travel magic, then you leave the Shatterstaves no choice but to prevent that from happening in the future."~ Bradley Du'urn
Chancellor of the Tritos Dominion
Description
Shatterstaves are an imposing sight in their specially crafted breastplates, adorned with runic sigils. Each member carries a hooked pike with an attached Lanyon Lantern, a specialized device designed to reveal concealed threats. As highly trained anti-magic nationalists, they are dedicated to the eradication of what they view as the root of all the world's problems, the abuse of magic. Patrolling the Tritos Dominion, they actively seek out and suppress use of magical arts, their presence a divisive and controversial subject among the populace.
History
The Shatterstaves have a legacy of challenging authority at its core, enduring defeats but always surviving to fight another day. Their cause has been bolstered by the ascension of King Ender Ramus, who has close ties with the organization. Under his reign, the Shatterstaves have been elevated to an official status, now operating independently from the Civil Servants within the Civil Legion, under the oversight of Magister Primarius Chastity Renault. Their autonomy has granted them a broader scope of authority, and their actions are often unchecked, leading to increased tensions in regions where they operate.
Tactics
Exceptionally skilled in combating magical practitioners, Shatterstaff members are trained to stay up-close and personal with their foes. Utilizing the Lanyon Lantern attached to pikes, they aim to disrupt the concentration of spellcasters, making it challenging for them to execute their incantations. Recently, members of the Civil Legion have been accompanying them on their patrols. These additional troops usually hang back and provide ranged support, allowing the Shatterstaff to focus intently on pacifying magical threats.
