Description
Appearing as an unsettling fusion of stone and undead flesh, stonecast revenants possess four arms and a lower half entirely encased in stone. These ancient Malkari undead are both ravenous and clever, capable of remaining motionless as statues for years before striking. Their eerie visage is complemented by their movement, dragging themselves quickly with their multiple arms, surprising even the most formidable meals. History
Originally discovered in the Stein, an old settlement of the Malkari, stonecast revenants have since been found in other locations. These undead were entombed in stone as a last resort for containment, a practice dating back thousands of years. In recent times, they have been mistakenly unearthed by both archaeologists, who believe they have found a groundbreaking discovery, and necromancers seeking powerful minions. Despite their appearance of immobility, the few who have witnessed them have all stated they moved far faster than expected.
Tactics
Stonecast revenants have varying motivations for remaining encased in stone; some find it a convenient method for luring prey, while others bide their time until they are fully freed. Regardless, once they decide to strike, their speed is shockingly swift. They employ a highly aggressive style, closing the gap between themselves and their prey in mere moments. Utilizing their multiple arms, they excel at grappling, holding their victims in a death grip as they maul and feed on them with savagery.
